Trivia: Original cast included Amy Adams and Mark Ruffalo. Maggie Gyllenhaal was considered for the lead role after Amy Adams dropped out. 

Goofs: Continuity: During the “teenage party”, Greenberg stumbles in the kitchen and sees a young woman giving the dog Mahler something red-ish (looking like juice) to drink from a plastic cup. Greenberg asks her no to give the dog any beer, and when the camera comes back to the woman with the glass, the color of the liquid has become yellow (like beer indeed).
